Most people aren’t used to being photographed. You don’t need to arrive with a pose or a perfect expression.
I’ll guide you through posture, angles and expression. We’ll review the photographs together, make adjustments, and explore what works for you.
Hi, I’m Dan.
I’m Dan Pearce, the photographer behind Hero Shots. My background is in photojournalism and lighting for film and television. I bring that experience into the studio, with an eye for light and a focus on expression.
You don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll give you direction, show you the photographs as we go, and help you find what works.

Before you
step in.
What should I bring?
Bring four to six tops that fit well and give us different options. Solid colours, texture and layers are useful starting points. For actor headshots, think about the roles you’re pursuing. We’ll look through everything together.
How many looks can we shoot?
There’s no set limit. We can change wardrobe, background, lighting and expression as appropriate. How many looks we get through depends on how involved each setup is.
When will I get my photographs?
Your gallery uploads as we shoot. Your first retouched photograph is delivered within 24 hours. Additional selections are delivered within five business days.
How much retouching do you do?
I clean up temporary distractions such as blemishes, stray hairs and lint, and refine exposure and colour. Natural skin texture and lasting features stay unless we’ve discussed a specific change.
Where is the studio?
312 Dolomite Drive, Unit 218, North York. Free parking is available on site. Sessions are by appointment.
